In my addiction to Pinterest I found a recipe for these personal sized baked oatmeal cups. I made them tonight and snapped a picture of them. It’s always rewarding to take pictures of yummy food! Of course I have to hold off eating it until I get the picture! Here’s the link to the blog where I found this healthy yumminess.

Paisley Belle Tutus and Amy Benson Photography are teaming up to bring you a great deal on a value-packed specialty Valentine’s mini-session. Mini-sessions begin at $50 and they are perfect for kids of ALL ages! 15 minute sessions will be available Monday, February 7th from 5:00pm-7:30 pm. If there is enough demand we will open sessions Tuesday evening, February 8th as well. Please send an email to Amy (amy@amybensonphotography.com) to reserve your spot. I will send you a paypal invoice to complete your reservation.

I am appalled that the last post I made was the beginning of November! However, life sometimes takes over and that is exactly what happened at the end of the year! As I’ve mentioned before, we moved from Nashville, TN to Grove City, OH last August. We moved into a small condo and we were busy getting the kids settled in school, sports and church and learning our way around our new home . I was making trips back and forth to Nashville (like a mad woman I might add) to finish up photo sessions I had previously scheduled and then Thanksgiving rolled around.
We went to visit my sister at Thanksgiving and the evening we arrived back into town we began moving from our condo into an old farmhouse. That carried us into the first week of December and then I took off for Nashville, AGAIN, to participate in a Christmas craft show where I took the Santa photos. Also, that weekend, I spent about 10 hours with the moving company as they packed up our home in Nashville (which still has yet to sell, but I digress) so that we could actually have our furniture in our new home instead of sleeping on air mattresses and sitting on a borrowed couch!
I arrived home at 1 A.M. Monday morning and the moving truck arrived about 8:30 A.M. Thus started the whirlwind of December! My world finally stopped spinning last Friday, I think. My equilibrium is still a little off so I’m not quite sure. But things seem to be back to normal. Sooooooooooo, here we are. Finally ready to get back to business as usual!
So now that you have that update, I wanted to let you know that I’ve got some exciting things in the near future and I’ll be offering some fun mini-sessions to help shake off these winter blues! I’ll be posting this weekend about some upcoming Valentine’s sessions so be watching!
A couple weeks ago I drove back to Nashville to take six months portraits of little Evie who is part of my Bebe plan. Since it was beautiful fall weather we decided to go to a park and to take some family photos as well. Evie is absolutely beautiful and you can see where she gets those beautiful eyes and that gorgeous face! We had such a fun time together and even Grandma and Grandpa came along so we had a great time!
This past Saturday my sister-in-law, niece and niece’s boyfriend came for their first visit to our home here in Ohio. We went to the kid’s football games (I’ll have to post some pictures soon) and then we headed out to the Columbus zoo. The weather was overcast and a little chilly but as the afternoon wore on, it turned out to be the perfect day for an outing to the zoo.
This is our 2nd trip to the zoo and we are loving it! The polar bears have quickly become our favorites and we love how this zoo feels more like an amusement park! We can’t wait until this summer when we can get the full experience of the water park at the zoo as well!

This past Thursday I accompanied my son with the rest of the 1st grade classes at school to Lynd’ Fruit Farm in Pataskala, OH. I was supposed to be a nice day - in the 70’s but it turned out that there was a big cloud sitting smack in front of the sun all day so we were all pretty chilly. Until it was time to leave, that is, and then said cloud decide to move on and it became sunny and warm!
Despite the chilly weather I had such a blast with Connor and his friends and the other moms that chaperoned on the trip. We got to pick a bag of apples and they were AMAZING -sSo crunchy and sweet! And SO much better than the ones at the store. We didn’t even wash them before we ate them - we just shined them up on our clothes and ate the juicy, sweet apples. I felt like an apple farmer for a moment or two!
As a matter of fact, I’ve made myself crave an apple just blogging about this so I’m getting an apple from the Lynd Fruit Farm as I type. Okay, I’m back. I didn’t wash this apple either - crazy me! Anyhow, before I get more carried away, I’ll just go ahead and post the pictures so you can enjoy our little field trip too!
It’s that time again and being that I’m getting lots of requests for fall photos this “What to Wear” edition is very timely. Now that I’m in Central, OH and it’s getting CHILLY in mid-October I’m looking forward to taking pictures of family’s bundled up in sweaters and cute hats and scarves. This is a great time of year to wear bold, jewel or earth tone colors! I hope this “What to Wear” guide will give you the inspiration you need as you get ready for your Fall family session!

Yes, I know it is October and I too hate it when stores display their wares this early in the season. But, unfortunately, there are deadlines for ordering Christmas cards AND many people want their Christmas cards well before December so that they can actually get them mailed in time to be delivered during the Christmas season. Of course, if you’re like my mom you just skip Christmas all together and go with a New Year’s letter (personally, I think it’s because she just can’t make that Christmas card deadline 
I love you mom!
Anyhow, I digress, which really isn’t that atypical for me but let’s get back to the subject at hand. I am so pleased to be offering a variety of Christmas card designs this year. If you need a new picture for your Christmas card this year please call me at 614 795 0212 and we’ll take some fabulous fall photos! But hurry, because as I’ve been told many, many, many, many times (ad nauseum) :) it will be gray and gloomy here before too long!
So, I’ll share a few designs with you and then you can find the rest here. I have more to add I just have to find the time to sit down and do it!
As you can see on the dates of my blog posts it as been quite a while since I have posted to my blog! For those of you who have not been informed, we - my husband, children and I - have relocated to Grove City, OH which is just a few miles south of Columbus. My husband, Dale, is on staff now at Grove City Church of the Nazarene which means that I get to re-start my photography business here in Ohio. Oh the joys of ministry!
Actually, we are very excited about this move and we are already loving Grove City and the people at the church. Our children are attending Grove City Christian School which we are also really loving! They have already made great friends at church and school, they are enjoying their Upwards football and cheerleading teams and are settling in quite nicely.
So, through all of that transition my photography business was put on the back burner for a month or two but I am now hitting the ground running! To kick off my new business here in Ohio I am having a sale on my “Watch Me Grow” Bebe Plan. This is a portrait plan for baby’s 1st year and it takes all the guesswork out of the important milestone portrait sessions for Mommy! This plan is normally $99 for the year but through November 1st I am offering it for $75!

Craig and Val Ann asked me to take their 1 year anniversary portraits and I was so pleased! They are friends of ours and we love hanging out with them. We met up at my friend Emily’s home and then took a little tour around the town and found some great spots! It was BLISTERING hot but they were such troopers and so we stopped on the way back and got a treat from Sonic - Craig’s treat! We ended up in my friend Emily’s yard which is just gorgeous as you can see from the photos! PS - she rents her home out to photographers so if you are looking for someplace quaint for your session let me know and I’ll hook you up!
