Craig and Val Ann asked me to take their 1 year anniversary portraits and I was so pleased! They are friends of ours and we love hanging out with them. We met up at my friend Emily’s home and then took a little tour around the town and found some great spots! It was BLISTERING hot but they were such troopers and so we stopped on the way back and got a treat from Sonic - Craig’s treat! We ended up in my friend Emily’s yard which is just gorgeous as you can see from the photos! PS - she rents her home out to photographers so if you are looking for someplace quaint for your session let me know and I’ll hook you up!

But I digress! With out further adieu I give you Craig and ValAnn’s slideshow!

McKinley is the daughter of my friend, Emily and it is always such a treat to photograph her. She is growing so fast and I feel like it is one of my own children growing too quickly! About the time I’m done with one session it’s time to do the next! Before I know it this little princess is going to be all grown up!

I created this slideshow with McKinley’s daddy in mind! He is currently deployed and so he’s watching McKinley grow her first year through photos! So, here’s for you, Alan! We love you and we miss you! Be safe and hurry home!! P.S. - go ahead and get a box of tissues before you hit the play button :)

Craig and Valann met me in Gallatin and we spent a couple hours together. My hubby was kind enough to be our chauffeur so that we could just hop in and out of the van! We had so much fun and I found some fabulous places in Gallatin for portraits. So, here’s just a couple to hold you a few more days. Enjoy!

I went to Gallatin last week to see my friend Emily and to photograph McKinley for her 6 month milestone. Actually, McKinley is actually seven months in these portraits but I re-assured Emily that by the time she and I are old we’ll never remember that these pictures are actually a month overdue!

Enjoy!

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of going to the Covey family’s home. They have such a charming house and yard which was perfect for their photo session. We had a really fun time together and I think their portraits show that!

Since Father’s Day is just a couple days away, I decided to use some special “Daddy” music for their slideshow! I hope you enjoy!!

It’s that time again and actually it’s been a while since I posted  a “What to Wear Wednesday” blog. I was so busy in May that I skipped May’s edition altogether and I do apologize ;) So, I will post an extra one for June in a week or two! But, for now, I hope this gives you some inspiration for your upcoming family portraits!

I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Lauren and Clint in Gardendale, AL. Gardendale is just a couple of hours drive south of Nashville and I took my niece, Mallory with me to assist. We had such a great day and the wedding was so beautiful! Lauren and Clint are such warm people and they have such a great family. It was really fun being part of their special day!

I had never been to Gardendale Church of the Nazarene, but our friend, John Parrish is the pastor there and it was so great to catch up with him and his family. The church has a little “woodsy” area behind it and it was the perfect spot for pictures. It’s always a little daunting not know what you are going to find at a strange location but this worked out perfectly for us.

Below is the slideshow from the day, hi-lighting some of the special moments. To play, click on the right facing arrow at the bottom left-hand corner. Enjoy!

These two brought their mommy and daddy to see me and what a sweet family they are! Mom and Dad were so head over heels in love with these two and it was just precious for me to watch these new parents with their two precious gifts. We had such a great time at the session and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this sweet family. I hope you enjoy their slideshow.

The Owens family came into Nashville from Atlanta on the weekend of the fateful flood of 2010. They drove in Thursday evening prepared to have an outdoor shoot. Of course it began pouring Thursday night and didn’t quit until it had flooded half of Middle Tennessee. We decided to meet at Opryland Hotel and although the shoot wasn’t what we had planned/hoped for it turned out really well, considering the circumstances. The Owens left for Atlanta and barely made it out of town before the interstate was closed down. That night Opryland Hotel flooded. These pictures will certainly hold alot of extra memories for the Owens.  Here is their slideshow…enjoy! (Click on the right facing arrow on the left to start the slideshow.)
